ADHD Wellbeing: our story
Wouldn't it be wonderful if ADHDers and other neurodivergent folks had practical support that would help them live the life they want to live and truly thrive? This is the big idea that led Jayne to create ADHD Wellbeing.
Jayne is originally from the UK and has lived in Wellington, New Zealand for over twenty years. She says that moving here was one of the best decisions she ever made. But as a people-pleasing, over-achieving ADHDer raising three kids, she often felt overwhelmed and in need of support. And when she looked for help, she discovered there was very little around. That's when she decided to upskill herself, starting by focusing on physical and mental health, and then learning about neurodivergence, coaching and how to help others.
Along the way, she dealt with grief, long Covid and a whole lot of uncertainty, and began to see how much the health system struggles to support people who don’t fit the mould.
This journey taught her many things she’ll never forget: ADHDers are not broken, but we do have different needs, and there's so much power in learning how to work with your brain, not against it.
And this is why she created ADHD Wellbeing, to empower ADHDers and other neurodivergent people to find the tools, strategies and support they need to build the life they want.
